3 PR Goals Your Company Should Have #2023edition

BACK TO BLOGS

With 2022 ending and the #2023edition coming to fruition, many people are setting goals or resolutions for the new year. Just like how individuals set goals, companies should also set goals, especially concerning PR. This is especially true because 87 percent of shoppers start their product searches online, and the average American spends 10.5 hours daily with media. In other words, it is now more critical than ever for companies to have excellent PR. Here are 3 PR goals that your company should consider adopting in 2023.

Increase Your Audience Size

As the saying goes, “attention is the oil of the 21st century.” The larger your audience size is, the more attention your company will get and, thus, the more sales your business will be able to generate. When it comes to increasing your audience size, content is king. Your business should focus on growing its audience across various platforms through outstanding PR. Articles, press releases, social media posts, presentations, etc., should all be used effectively to publish information about your company, manage its reputation, and help it stand out positively.

Establish Authority

53% of consumers report trust as the most critical factor behind their buying from a company. For this reason, your company must build a reputation as a trusted and well-respected authority in your niche. There are many ways you can do this. For example, you can publish thought leadership pieces from your executives regularly. You can share industry insights and news, provide transparency about your processes and operations, etc. PR that highlights key events you have participated in, collaborations you have made with other trusted brands, or research you have conducted can be highly beneficial for establishing authority.

Reinforce Your Company’s Purpose

A global study revealed that customers are 4-6 times as likely to purchase from, protect, and champion purpose-driven companies. The purpose is your company’s mission, besides just turning a profit. For example, Facebook aims to “make the world more open and connected.” Your company’s purpose should be clear, easy to understand, and positively impact humanity. It would be best to use PR to reinforce your company’s goal and help inform your audience of it. Ideally, doing this will inspire customer loyalty and increase sales.

The Bottom Line

Improving your PR can have a tremendously beneficial impact on your company’s overall success. However, if you do not consciously create goals for your PR, you will be less likely to improve it. So, could you consider implementing these three PR goals to see if you can take your PR to the next level in 2023?
